Many people like having outlook open all day - it means you can get emails, calendar notifications, check your emails quickly and more, however, people don't like the space it takes on their taskbar (and some teachers don't like to see it open on the taskbar)

Windows mail already does this. Alternatively, outlook has an option to hide when minimised, allowing it to look closed, even though its only minimized. To set this useful feature up:

  1. Open outlook
  2. From the taskbar click the up arrow near the battery settings on the right hand side
  3. Then right click the outlook icon
  4. Select hide when minimised

  1. Done. You can now minimise outlook and it will hide on the taskbar
  2. To reopen outlook you can either re-open outlook normally, or double click the icon on the right:
