When storing files and documents, a filing system is a great tool to use on your computer. Filing systems help to keep your computer organised and prevent you from losing important documents. An effective filing system is quick and easy to make and can save you loads of time later on down the track.

Step 1.

Open File Explorer

Step 2.

Click the New Folder button at the top of the screen to make a new folder.

Once you have completed your super simple filing system, drag and drop your files and documents into their relevant areas.

Other places to store files is the desktop. The desktop is most effectively used when only files that are used frequently are put on it. The desktop is not a great place to store work, as it becomes very cluttered and can be time consuming to clear and find older work. By using a filing system, in later years you can easily find work and older documents.
